I am currently looking at a feasible security model that we can use with our winforms smart client application. We are trying to understand\find out the easiest way to present the data to the user in terms of the security context.

To explain this better:

There could be two situations when user would not be authorized to see certain data, first when the user has no access to the screen at all which is easy to implement by simply disabling the options that lead to the scree.

However we have a second situation which sounds a kinda strange. That is, user would have access to a particular screen which has data (say, in the form of a grid), but certain rows in the grid or columns in the grid might not be visible to a particular user (assume something like financial information which only the finance deptt can see and not other deptt. or so).
