I need suggestions in asp.net threading concept.
I need to run a long process around 20-30 times and i need to notify the user what is status of the process.
My Current Implementation:

I have created the thread that will do the process and keep store the status message in a session variable and i have the asp.net timer control
that will tigger every one minute.In the timer tick event i will notify the user what is current status of the process.
I dont this the right way but its working without any problem. Please suggest me the better way to handle threading and nofitying the status to the user.
