how can I assign function variable directly when calling with parameter

Hi..
if use a simple funcion like this..
Private Function multiply(ByVal a As Integer, ByVal b As Integer) As Integer num1.one = a ' num1 is any class varible num2.two = b ' num2 is any class varible Return num1.one * num2.two End Function


This function reassing parameter to another varible.
so i seeing any techinique where i can assing varible of 'multiply' funcion when calling it something like this
Private Function multiply(num1.one = a As Integer, num2.two =b As Integer) As Integer Return num1.one * num2.two End Function
