control with literalcontrol

hi, i use this line to create html code dynamically in event 'Page_Load', i put in a Panel:
Panel1.Controls.Add(new LiteralControl("<table><tr><td>'Control'</td></tr></table>"));
if i put in 'Control', this:
<a href=\"http://www.website.com\">a link</a>
it works, but if i put this:
<asp:HyperLink ID=\"HyperLink1\" runat=\"server\" NavigateUrl=\http://www.website.com\">a link</asp:HyperLink>
i see the word 'a link', but is not working
whats wrong?
