maintain scroll position on postback in asp:panel

I'm working with a panel that has a gridview in it, and when I scroll down and select a row, the scroll position is lost on the postback.  I've attempted to implement SEVERAL of the solutions I've found, to no avail, and have found what I think is the best solution, but am having trouble converting it from C# to VB. I've tried SEVERAL  conversion utilities, but none are working for whatever reason.  Can anyone please help me convert this idea:
