Add new property to existing Profile

My profile setup contains several properties, and this has worked well so far.
Now, I've edited web.config to add a new property, but the database table, aspnet_Profile, doesn't reflect the change.
The database table already contains Profile data; so, I want to ensure these Profiles remain intact.
How do I update database table aspnet_Profile?
 
EDIT:
I have a User Profile page, where I added an editable field to update the new profile element.  This seems to work fine.
