I started working with ASP.net this year and can see the progress in my skills and knowledge. I have a ways to go though before I am at a high level of competency. This would include using it with other technologies like AJAX, WCF, JQuery...etc.
I can't help but wonder how long ASP.net will be used, given the ever changing world of software development. I hope the skills I am putting so much effort into will still be marketable 2 years from now. I also wonder if in the relatively near future, if it will be replaced with something else. I don't think this will happen any time soon but I really don't know.
Does anyone know anything about the future of asp.net? Have they heard about some technology that is scheduled to replace it?
Any thoughts on this?
