Split string then add it to a Hashtable

 I would like to split the string below into weeks than add it to a Hashtable.

weekSpan = "YYYNNNNNNNNYYYNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNYNNNNNNNNNNNN"; 
How would I split the string?  And then add the corresponding date into a hastable
