Incrementing a Date value

i'm supposed to to retrieve a date value from the database.

The format from the database is displayed in a textbox that is not editable.

I have to retrievee this value and increment to the next valid date.

Scenario:

Format of original value:   20090131

I'm supposed to retrive this value from the textbox and increment

to ONE day after this date value.

So here I need to turn the value above to 20090201 - which is exactly one day after January 31. 

Also, my next value from 20090228 should automatically be 20090301.

 

All ideas/help will be appreciated.
