I'm a newbie to the ASP.NET Forums and wondered if anyone could help shed some light.
I have a web service that i have created in .NET 4 that i am trying to authenticate a user using Membership.ValidateUser against our aspnetdb database. The WS has to be in .NET 4 to be able to return my JSON objects but the original website which the app is complimenting is in .NET V2.0.
FormsAuthentication is endabled on both the main site and the WS site and the machine key is set to auto generation on both sites too.
When I invoke the web service Membership.ValidateUser always returns false but I can login to the main site using the same credentials.
