I've been learning ASP.NET for a little while now.. although i'm still really new.
In my recent project, one of my goals was to do the whole project using only the VS2005 GUI.. and very little coding.
So, I set off and learned a bunch.. and got my project working pretty well.. but when i wanted to get some advanced things done.. people on the forums were advising me to call up functions and such to refresh my data.. but i hadn't coded any of that at all.. and VS certainly didn't build it.. it was all stuck inside of my aspx page (not the code behind).
So this lead to my question: Are you all even using the VS GUI ?

So now i need to decide.. do i learn asp coding by hand? I guess i need to in order to do complex things. I'm just so surprised that VS2005 isn't building the code correctly. Like why doesn't it do the dim/try/catch coding for us?
I feel a little tricked.. like VS offered to "do the coding for me ...
