Ok, I've got a Microsoft report (.RDLC file - do these have a proper name?) working, getting data from a SP via a typed dataset. This is fine.  Now I'd like to handle timeouts.  Currently, when the SP takes more than one minute, the ASP code times out.  I can fix this by manually editing my .designer.cs file, looking for InitCommandCollection, and typing:
this._commandCollection[0].CommandTimeout = 80; // timeout value = 80 seconds
(Ideally that timeout could be changed according to how long I'm prepared to wait for the report to become populated)

But it's dangerous editing code in that file because it gets regenerated when you make changes to the dataset.
I've read that a solution is using partial classes and putting the code in there, but I'm a bit of a noob and can't figure it out.  Presumably there's some event I hook into so that I can set the timeout value at the appropriate time.
