New page with a table

I have a page that creates a table using response.write("<td>") etc. This table is created when i click a button. At the moment it writes the table to the top of the current page what I want to happen is when the button is clicked I want it to open a new page and print the table on the new page?
 
I have so far been unsuccessful in my attempts to get this to work. I have looked at response.redirect but that just opens a new page without my table etc
Do I for instance need to move the table writting bit on to another page and then use redirect to that page. If this is the case how can I pass some values to the new page I need to pass it a location in order to put the data (which is a list of folders and files which is in an array ) to the new page??
