Hi Guys, I am freakin confused as hell over asp.net and .net framework in general. I have coded in c, c++ and java but asp.net seems to make things very very complex for everything. I want to make cute consumer apps like hotornot.com redtube.com nerdDating.com blah blah blah and for that all I need to is put some data in a database and show it beautifully cuddly manner to my consumers.
Now I wanted to go asp.net route instead of php for the superb debudding on vstudio and the common ground in my experience of c# and c++. But unfortunately, the more I digg into .net the more confused I get. There are webforms, linq, linq to sql, data entity framework, MVC, MVP, web server controls, html server controls, ADO.net, sqldatasource.... blah blah blah.
All I need is a database where I can put my data, take it and shove it on user's browser. Why make life so complicated. I have a girlfriend. I don't want to spend forever on this wh ...
