How to add a new item on index[0] on a dropdownlist filled by DataTable

Hi,

  I have a dropdownlist which is filled by Datatable . Now  i wish to add a new item "Please Select an Item" on Index[0] and push rest items below this item. Actually i wish to use requirefieldvalidator with initialvalue field.
