I'm testing my first login web control, and it says the std failure message: "Your login attempt was not successful. Please try again". I cannot figure out why it will not authenticate. The username and password are correct.
Here's my config:
Database: SQL 2005 (not Express), ASP.NET 2.0..
(1) I access IIS, goto my virtual directory, right-click and go to properties
(2) I select the ASP.NET tab and click Edit Configuration
(3) Under the authentication tab:
mode: forms, membership provider class: AspSqlMembershipProvider, Roles (enabled), Role provider class: AspNetSqlRoleProvider
*****login.MembershipProvider = AspNetSqlProvider (in my login.aspx page)******
I think this could be my problem, however when I select the drop down menu in IIS config, I don't see AspNetSqlProvider in the list. ...
