I have previous experience with ASP programming using VB scripting. I have created a lot of ASP with reports that connect to a SQL database. I went as far as charting the reports dynamically and exporting to excel, etc.
I intend to use ASP.NET to create a data-driven dynamic web site . It looks like that I have to purchase the VS.Net software. I am currently enrolled as a student, can I get a discounted price. Where can I buy it.
1. What software tool(s) do I need to use to develop ASP.NET web sites. Is it just VS.NET. I have dreamweaver as HTML editor and that's it.
2. What kind of books, online resources or tutorials do you recommend. I learn best by exmples. If I see an exmaple, I will figure out the logic. Where can I find resources to show me "complete" examples of ASP.NET coding. I need something that can get me started quickly.
