I have a simple vb.net page.  I has four panels that display one after another after a user clicks "continue".  At the bottom of each panel, I want to add a separate "Notes" panel where the user can record notes that might come in handy later.  Rather than adding four different notes panels, I'd like to just have one notes panel, and then set some value for a "notes type" field.  Thus, if the notes type =1, the note was added on panel 1.  If the notes type = 2, then the note was added when panel 2 was visible.

I've created the stored procedure that saves the note when the user hits submit, but how to I pass in a "Notes type" equal to 1, 2,3, or 4 based opon whichever panel was visible when they submitted the notes?  ( I guess the alternative would be to add four notes, panels, but I'm just trying to find a more efficient way to code this)
