I have couple of questions regarding Asynchounous asp .net pages.
First, has anybody done or is aware of any empirical analysis on performance impact of using Async vs sync pages ?
Second, what is the best practice for adding custom controls to the page that is depended on Async data? Should it be added on Asyc task complete or Pre-render complete?
Third, what does the Async=true page attribute do?
Finally, any gotchas for using Async Pages?
I am hoping that other people who played with Async pages relate their experiences here, so we can all benefit from it. I have been looking into using Async pages for high traffic website, but I am not very sure if I understand it completely, and if it is tested enough.
Appreciat your comments.
