I was given the task to create an application for my compnay. I have researched before and I came across ASP. Basically the application will be working with SQL server 2000 and the EDI mapping software MapForce and our manufacturing software Epicore Vantage version 6. The main steps that the application should take are:
Read our "Inbox" folder for new orders (EDI files) and notify the user.
Have the EDI file parsed for information such as GM or Chrysler, etc..Execute the mapping application with the file as a parameter and have the mapping application map everything in the file to our SQL server database.Extracts the information needed from SQL server and create a flat file. This flat file will be on the server machine or anywhere on the network.Notify the user that a file is ready to be imported into our Vantage software manually since Vantage does not contain an automatic load feature.
