Hi
I have just started to write my first server control for my asp.net application - so I am new to this! It's a dropdown list color picker - where each item in the list has a background color. You can see it in action here and the .vb code is at the end of this message:

The problem is that when I select an item in the list, the background color of the selected item disappears. On the second example, in the page, above there is an additional problem - when auto postback is set to 'true' then the items repeat in the list after it is posted back i.e. the list gets longer...
Any help in resolving this would be much appreciated - as I said I am new to this aspect of asp.net, so any examples and explanations would really help in my understanding!
