find control question

Hi, I have something like the following which is kind of mass. Is there a way to shorten this so that I can specify the child controls directly like with XML? So I don't have to loop through each child control and then another loop and so on.

            ContentPlaceHolder content = (ContentPlaceHolder)this.Master.FindControl("ContentPlaceHolder1");
            foreach (Control childctrl in content.Controls)
            {
