Need help with HttpClientCertificate to read CAC card

Hi,
I am trying to read my CAC card information with the following lines of code
HttpClientCertificate cert = System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Request.ClientCertificate;
stirng[] subjectArray = cert.Subject.Split(',');
string entireSubjectLine = cert.Subject.ToString();
 
I place the code in my test ASP.NET Page_Load method and ran it on my workstation.
When checked the 'entireSubjectLine' string and it was empty, although my CAC was inserted.
What am I missing to read the information off my CAC or certi?
I thought if my CAC is inserted, the information should be on the cert, correct?
