Hi I have a DDL that I have the first listItem as "-- Please select the theme you are reviewing --"
with the value parameter as an empty string. What I would like is to prevent the SelectIndexChangedEvent from firing if the user selects this selection.

Currently I have entered

Dim ddl As DropDownList = DirectCast(sender, DropDownList) If (ddl.SelectedValue).ToString = "-- Please select the theme you are reviewing --" Then Exit Sub

In the first line of the Event procedure, I was wondering if there was any way of ensuring the event doesn't fire if the Please Select...Item is selected.

Thanks
