Linkbuttons Click event continues to fire for all other postbacks after its first use

I have one linkbutton on the page with a click event declared, which causes a postback. This work just fine. 
I also have a sort button on the page, a regular html link, that calls a javascript function.  This JS function sets the aspnet form's action to the current page, sets a hidden field value, sort, and posts the form. 
My problem is the following:  After you click the linkbutton, any click of the sort buttons cause the LinkButton's Click event to fire.
 
My JS sort works great until you use the LinkButton.
