I have an implementation of the Membership controls that was tested and working in Production. This worked COMPLETELY. Something changed after a few weeks and I am unable to the the password recovery functionality to work again. I can enter a username and the security question will be presented but when I enter the answer I get an error message, unable to verify answer, or something like that.
I recreated the controls in an entirely new project and I was able to get everything to work locally within the IDE but when I try to create a virtual directory and try to browse to the site and folder in IIS I see the controls and get the question prompted but the error is back.
I have tried sharing the folder, adding the ASPNET user with 'Read', 'Execute', etc rights and it is not working.
This is a really strange error - like I said before I had thhis working for several weeks. Now I can't get the password ...
