Difference using C# instead of VB in Visual Studio

 I am using the FormView, it does no behave the same as it does in VB. For example, why in C# you have to go into the HTML source code and add: OnItemUpdated="FormView1_ItemUpdated" to get an item updated?  This does not have to be done in VB.  Your thoughts?
