I have a general question regarding databound controls. I have a page that has some forms and controls that are databound to SqlDataSources. When the page is loaded some of these formviews, dropdownlists, Lists, and gridviews are set as enabled=false, visible=false and are made enabled and visible later programmatically based on buttons being clicked etc. Do these forms and controls still databind (make their queries to SQL) when the page loads, even if they are enabled=false, visible=false. It has seemed to me that maybe they are being bound (with the associated overhead and delay) even though they are not enabled. Can anyone straighten me out on this? I want to make my pages as efficient as possible and do not want to bind disabled and invisible controls and forms. Thanks.
