BulletedList - nested?

I am looking for a possibility to nest a BulletedList-Control. The output should be a HTML-List like tis:

<ul>
    <li>1</li>
    <li>2
       <ul>
          <li>2.1
             <ul>
                <li>2.2</li>
             </ul>
          </li>
       </ul>
    </li>
    <li>3</li>
</ul>

This is XHTML compliant - so I don't understand, why
BulletedList-Control does not supports this? Or did I just have not
seen it?

Also this fails:
