I created a user control for lookup, and used it declaratively in another user control. I am using the lookup control as a target of ModalPopup extension, declared in the ascx page of the parent or container control. I am using vb.net in version 2.0 platform. The parent or container control uses update panel to wrap around most of the content.
The lookup control works fine first time when popped up, lookup value is selected and popup is closed. However, when I popup again, that's when there is an issue. The lookup control renders inappropriately, like the progress image is displayed for ever, the positions of controls are shifted below the box boundary of control, etc.
I am not sure of the root cause, however I am guessing if I reload the control on subsequent popups, this may be resolved. Has anyone faced this kind of issue, or any suggestions?
