User name and role in the loggedIn event

Hi all,

I have a login page which is common to site-users in three distinct roles.  When the site-user logs in I would like to redirect them to their relevant page, each of which is different for each site-user role.

I have tried in the LoginX_LoggedIn event to capture the correct role with :-

User.IsInRole("rolename")

but I believe that the User information has not been completed when this event fires.  I also tried to set the login name with User.Identity.Name which is returning null also.  ( I can get the login name however with by reading Login.UserName).

Is it possible to capture the users role at the LoggedIn event of the login page?
If not what is the best way to redirect to a specific page based upon role membership?
