I think I have a simple question but in an hour or so of searching I couldn't find the answer.
We are currently using a 3rd party control package for now have the reference to the assembly version number in each ASPX page that use a control from the DLL.
On each page we have the page directive:
<%@ Register Assembly="Company.Controls, Version=18.1.5.101, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=xxxx" Namespace="Company.Controls" TagPrefix="companyX" %>
The problem we are running into is that our vendor is rolling out minor fixes on an almost weekly basis. Right now we have to manually go in and change the version number for all ASPX/ASCX objects when a new DLL is used. We would like to have the version number of the DLL for our app referenced in a single location...so all of this manual effort can be avoided.
