Two instances of a service or two threads?

I need a workflow running two times. Now, I�m not sure whether I should create two threads or better use two instances of my service� The goal is to get a stable and high-performance environment. I thought two services would be the better choice because it�s more error proof, isn�t it? What would you suggest and why?
