Hello,
I have to create a Speedcheck (Download,Upload,Latency) for a college project and I tried it with a javascript which calls a page method. This page method returns a long string at least (100KB), and in the meanwhile the client measures the time.
You can try the solution for the download here: http://aspspider.ws/Epstone/
The bad thing is, that my firefox process ram usage blows up for about 100MB with a one part 1MB test. And it hangs for seconds (CPU Usage = 100%).
If the test string is even bigger it asks for "go on running the script or debug it"? If you hav a fast internet connection you have to use a bigger test to see that... Please try it with Firefox, IE handles it "quite" good.
Do you have a tip for me, how to get it more performant, or even a better solution? That would be great!
The code looks like this.
JavaScript
function __startRating() ...
