Sometimes I feel like built-in .NET features can be cumbersome. Should I code my own security and authentication (e.g. using my own SQL tables and writing code to validate users, authenticate pages by checking a session variable, etc.) or use the Membership, Profiles, and Roles features that are built-in to .NET? I just feel like the built-in stuff seems more complicated than writing my own. Thoughts?
Thanks in advance. - Matt
