Losing dropdown values upon submit

I've created a simple webform, one with a couple of dropdown list boxes and a submit button.
Upon clicking the submit button, it redirects to another form and is supposed to pass the values of the dropdown list boxes via query string.
I have been unable to make this work.  Blank values are never passed.
Just to see what was being passed, I tried having the submit button msgbox the values and it seems that when the button is clicked, the values are blanked out.
I'm sure this is something very simple that I'm doing wrong.
