I have developed a website in vs2005 . It is not registered yet and I want to run it on my local machine. If I run it thru vs2005 there is no problem and my url shows http://localhost:1037/REAL_ESTATE/Home.aspx . But if i want to run it thru IE then i must remember the port no 1037 . This also keeps on changing every time i run the software . How do i get over this problem so that i just have to type http://localhost/REAL_ESTATE/home.aspx . Do I need a static ip ? How do i get hold of one thru my service provider ?
Also if i open the website in Mozilla firefox giving the url http://localhost/REAL_ESTATE/home.aspx i get the following error
