Hi, I am a junior developer seeking some help with AJAX. I only started researching this yesterday so bare with me as i try explain.
I can successfully setup an AJAX service and use it to update a page without refreshing the page. To trigger the post back i just type something into a text box, the service returns the time and prints it in a label, easy enough.
What I am wondering is if I can trigger the AJAX service from another source (bar code reader) and still update the display on the client side page without having to refresh it? So the bar code reader would send a request to the AJAX service, and the client screen would then be updated with the name of the item just scanned without refreshing.
I hope that is somewhat clear, any help would be greatly appreaciated.
