The users have designed a very complicated page, which they're not very interested in changing. The performance when posting back to the server has decreased over time as new features have been added. The main issue is that they've requested about 24 modal dialogs containing formviews for editing varied pieces of data, spread across 6 tabs. These obviously accumulate to slow the server's rebuild time.
I'm looking for suggestions on how to better improve the speed of these asynchronous postbacks. Some of the things suggested were making "false tabs", which actually link into a second page. Separating the page into multiple pages in other ways would be a battle.
