I have been away for about a year now after back surgery. I won't be going back to the corporate world and will try working part-time from home as I am disabled. I want to get individuals opinions on the various tools available today, like NHibernate, ADO.EntityFramework, etc, there are tons more. I have played with the NHibernate stuff but had a heck of a time simply getting the most basic tutorial to work, finally got it working. Have not started on the ADO.EntityFramework yet.
I want to have some type of framework in place to handle the basic stuff, DAL, MAIL, FILEstuff, etc, which I can do but I like the idea of using entities and persisting them to the database like the NHibernate product.
What are others actually using, maybe something not listed here as again I have found TONS of these things. If you are using any of these types of tools how large is the application, etc.
