I have a page with listbox control, where user can select certain items, then hit the submit buttton. Once submitted, it will generate a text file to record the item listed. This text file will later be used by an 3rd party apps running on another machine periodically, say every 10 minutes. The 3rd party app will then create a report based on the selected item and dump the report to a shared folder. I would like to have some kind of message posted on the page once the submit button is hit, the message should say the report is being created, and once the report is ready, the page should shows a link to the newly created file, so that user can click and open it.
I have only very basic asp.net knoweldge, need some help here.
