using public property

 Hi All,
I have a public property that get's filled in my page_load. I want to use this property in my front aspx page:
<asp:SqlDataSource ID="SqlDataSource1" runat="server"
        ConnectionString="<%$ ConnectionStrings:NopSqlConnection %>" SelectCommand="SELECT DISTINCT Name, OptionID FROM BIV_StyleTypeOptions WHERE     (StyleTypeID = 1) AND (GenderID = 1) and (LanguageId = <%lid%>)"></asp:SqlDataSource>
The query runs if i run it manually but I get an sql error: "incorrect syntax near '<'
