HI,

I'm trying to use ASP.NET's CompareValidator with a date column stored in SQL Server 2005.  At the moment the application does not work because when I initially store the date in SQL Server, it automatically adds a default time 00:00:00 to the date that I've added.  This causes a problem when I come to update the record as the CompareValidator will only allow the date in a format as follows e.g. 31/12/2008, but the date returned from the database is in the format e.g. 31/12/2008 00:00:00.

If I leave the time portion on the date the CompareValidator steps in.  If I delete the time portion, then I get a concurrency violation (I'm using optimistic concurrency).

Has anyone else had this problem?  If so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

 Mick
