Can't create new user with email address - Web Administralition tool

Good morning,


I have found the answer to the  password format but now when I try to use the email address drxxxx@mysoul.com.au it spits the dummy and tells me  "Email format is invalid".  Yet it works with  drxxxx@gmail.com.  Looks like it doesn't like the nation code on the end of the email address. 


Any suggestions how I can overcome this.
