Search using Indexing service

Hello
We have classic asp application which uses indexing service to search documents on the server.Not just website but all shared folders on server.
Now we want to integrate with intranet asp.net 3.5 website.
Using indexing service I can get filenames path etc. But will it become security threat if I try to open documents on server from client machine at runtime?
