web.conf problem

 I have multiple connectionString's to multiple databases in my web.conf. I do this to query multiple databases from a single query page.
My problem arise's if one of the databases is down. This prevents me from searching the other databases (error, because no connection string).
My question; is there a way to skip a connectionString if it is not available; and move onto the next connectionString to continue my search, which would return data from the available databases only.
