I have a Server 2003 web server running a web app that has a virtual directory pointing to a File Server. The web app wants to read files from the File Server using hyperlinks and also save uploaded files using SaveAs(). The web server is in the DMZ, is not on it's own domain and the File Server is within our private domain. I have the same user accounts set up in both places, including the IUSR account and have given folder access on the file server to all of these users. For the connect As in IIS virtual directory, I have tried using ourdomain\userinbothplaces, no domain userinbothplaces, web IP\userinbothplaces, ourdomain\IUSRaccountinbothplaces, web IP\IUSRaccountinbothplaces. I get the same results for all of these combonations.
When on the Web App server, I can look at the virtual directory from within the Computer Management console, and see that it is indeed pointing to the virtual directory ...
