We have developed an AJAX page, which sits within SharePoint. When a user clicks a button, a Web Service call is made via AJAX.
There are 2 SharePoint servers in a load-balanced cluster. When load-balancing is enabled, we see a Javascript alert error message when the button is clicked. This is a sporadic error. However, it occurs very frequently.
The error message is: An error occurred: Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerParserErrorException: The message received from the server could not be parsed...Details: Error parsing near '<HTML dir="ltr"><H'
We do not see the error when load balancing is disabled.
Has anyone seen this before? Is there a known issue with AJAX load balancing? Can anyone give us a clue as to how to fix this?
Server details are:
Windows Server 2003 R2
MOSS 2007
MOSS 2007 SP1 + WSS v3 SP1
ASP.Net 3.5
