I am very puzzled on how to program this idea. Here is what im trying to do. I have a website where people can post different things it is not public yet. When people post things in a particular category, I have a windows service polling the that table every hour to send out email alerts to interested people. I want to have an instant email alert feature but I don't want to poll the database every minute. It just may be too hard on the computer. So if I don't want to poll the database every 1-2 minutes how can I program an instant email alert feature?
