Dropdown menu: Adding static and dynamic values

Hello guys,

how do i append values of an object datasource and static items together. We have a table of categories, some are dynamic and 4 are static, static values are

1. general categories

2. birthday greetings

3. love

4. Add new...

here is my dropdown menu., But the values produced are wrong, each static value is repeated and the dynamic values fall under the static value, I enabled AppendDataBoundItems to true.

I want each value repeated once.
